Why Fall 2020 is a crucial season of our lifetime?
Autumn is a season of beautiful weather, colorful leaves and pumpkin spice, with cherished celebrations like Halloween and Thanksgiving. That’s why, even if the temperature gets cooler, Fall gives us those warm fuzzy feelings in our heart. Although, this year for several reasons Fall 2020 will be considered the most memorable season of our lifetime and here are just a few of them -
We are experiencing a terrible pandemic
We are noticing multiple weather catastrophe in several places
We are witnessing historic elections
We experienced devastating financial/economic calamities
The list can go on…
But other than all these events, there is one more important reason why Fall 2020 is the most memorable season, it’s because this is the time when we as humans marked some level of common reality about our lives.
“We went inwards to find ourselves.”
We realized we are all alike in a certain manner. We realized life’s basic needs and humanity’s basic rights are simple and straightforward.
With the onset of COVID, our futuristic plans, the expectations we had set, market bets, multiple investments, business strategies — all went somewhat cloudy… but what did not change was our love, care and concern for our friends and family members, actually not only did it not change, instead it elevated!
A very important lesson we learnt this season, which our conscience always knew but wanted to shut it in a box somewhere deep in our ambitiously racing hearts, which was —
“Who are we at the core?”
The virus did not differentiate if we were rich or poor, if we were some dignitaries or movie stars. Money could not make us invincible and neither could power, which some of us had completely forgotten…The virus made us realize all that, by showing us the mirror.
With the falling colorful leaves of Autumn, fell all the layers of pompous egos & discriminations. Highlighting the realization about love, kindness, empathy — essentially the fact that…we are all humans !
